Put the first letter of the author's name into the box, and click "Go!" button to identify the name in the list.

Search Targets of Simple Search with a Keyword

The keywords will match with title, author, keyword, subject, abstract, format, publication date, publisher, article, registered file, identifier (ISSN, ISBN, language, Bibliographic ID, etc. In case the item is the historical one, Call Number and Book ID are also counted as identifier.).

Search with Alternative Notations

Prometheus search system has the equal function to TUFS OPAC.

Both lower case and upper case are available. Search in English letters is done with case ignored.

You can omit sound marks (umlaut, accent, etc.)

Sokuon (small lettered kana "っ"), yoon (small lettered kana "ゃ," "ょ," etc.) are identified as large lettered "つ" or "や."

Long letter (Choon) is not identified as a search target. The search is done without choon.

Differently scripted kanji letters are identified as a same letter, if their meanings are the same （"國語" and "国語"）.

This rule is also applied to Chinese (simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese) and Korean.

Partial Match

When you want to get the result of all the materials which have the same first word, put an asterisk (*) after the word.

For example,

   will be match with selects, selector, selecting.

Exclusion of Items with Unnecessary Words

Put "-" or "NOT" before the word to exclude unnecessary items from the result. You can limit the range of your search.

For example, when you put

  or  

the combination of "training" with "cat" is excluded from your search target.

Search with Logic Operator

Following logic operators are used for combining the search conditions. Put these operators in upper case.

AND - Put AND to find all the items which have all the words combined by this operator. For example,

is match with the items which have both "cats" and "dogs."

OR - Put OR to find items which have either of the words combined by this operator. For example,

is match with the items which have either "cats"or "dogs."

NOT - Put NOT to exclude the items which have the word following this operator. For example,

is not match with the items which have the combination of "training" and "cat."

You can use several operators simultaneously by putting each operators in parentheses.

Search Target　Identify your search target from the pulldown menu.

Title　When you want to search by a title, put the search term in the box.

Author　When you want to search by an author, put the search term in the box.

Keyword　When you want to search by a keyword, put the search term in the box.

Publisher　When you want to search by a publisher, put the search term in the box.

Issued Date　When you wat to search by the year of publication, put the range of the period in the boxes. (If the boxes are blank, the time range is set from "1800" to "2200" automatically.)

Description　When you want to search summary, put search term in the box.

Alltext　When you want to search for the whole text, put the search term in the box.

Language　When you want to search by a language (titles, texts), select a language from the pulldown menu.

Local　When you want to search by types, check the boxes.
